1. Who we are and what these terms cover

KinHarmony is provided by Dawsie Nora, LLC, referred to as “we” or “us.” You can reach us at cs@kinharmony.app.

These terms cover kinharmony.app, kinharmonyapp.com when it directs you to our services, the KinHarmony iPhone app, and related support. Together we call these “KinHarmony.”

You accept these terms when you create an account, buy a membership, or use KinHarmony. If you do not agree, please do not use KinHarmony. Rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract still apply, as section 14 explains.

If you download the app from the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (opens in a new tab) governs your license to the app software. These terms describe KinHarmony’s services and add to that license. This agreement is between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for KinHarmony or its content.

2. Who can use KinHarmony

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into this agreement. KinHarmony is for adults, including parents who want guidance about their children. Telling us a child’s age range to tailor parenting guidance does not create an account for that child or let a child use KinHarmony.

KinHarmony is offered in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. The iPhone app is available on the App Store in those countries, and website memberships are sold to customers in those countries. Do not use KinHarmony where the law does not allow it.

Each account is for one person. Partner features are for two adults who both choose to connect.

3. What KinHarmony is, and what it is not

KinHarmony helps couples grow closer through everyday activities and guidance. Depending on the features available to you, this includes a daily question you each answer on your own phone and reveal together, little notes, a weekly check-in, a shared calendar, weekly goals and to-dos, Understanding Each Other, partner games including Secret Missions, Tug-of-Draw, date ideas you pick and plan together, shared photo memories, guidance for harder conversations and for parenting, and Find the right words.

KinHarmony offers general educational guidance. Our guidance draws on published communication and parenting approaches. Citing a source does not mean that source endorses KinHarmony or has reviewed it.

KinHarmony is not therapy, counseling, medical care, legal advice, or an emergency service. Using it does not create a professional relationship. It cannot decide who is right, read another person’s intentions, diagnose anyone, or guarantee how a relationship will go. Adapt or skip any suggestion to fit your situation. Nothing in KinHarmony asks you to stay in a relationship, forgive someone, or share something you would rather keep private.

Date ideas are optional suggestions. Adapt them to your own safety, budget, health, access needs, allergies, and local laws, and check things like the weather, opening hours, and prices before you go. Either of you can pass on an idea, change it, or stop at any time. Saying yes to an idea is an invitation, not a promise.

If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number: 911 in the United States and Canada, 999 in the United Kingdom, 000 in Australia, or 111 in New Zealand. KinHarmony support and reporting tools are not monitored as emergency services.

For emotional crisis support, or if you are experiencing domestic violence or abuse, you can reach these services:

  • United States: call or text 988 for crisis support. For domestic violence or abuse, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788.
  • Canada: call or text 988, the Suicide Crisis Helpline. For domestic violence or abuse, call the crisis line for your province or territory, listed by the Government of Canada (opens in a new tab). In Ontario, that includes the Assaulted Women’s Helpline at 1-866-863-0511, and in Quebec, SOS violence conjugale at 1-800-363-9010.
  • United Kingdom: call Samaritans on 116 123. For domestic abuse, call the 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.
  • Australia: call Lifeline on 13 11 14. For domestic, family, or sexual violence, call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732.
  • New Zealand: call or text 1737 to talk with a trained counsellor. For family violence, call Women’s Refuge on 0800 733 843.

4. Your account

Use an email address you control, give accurate information, and keep your password private. Do not share your account, use someone else’s account, or pretend to be someone else. Tell us at cs@kinharmony.app if you think someone has used your account without permission.

You are responsible for activity in your account that you allow or could reasonably have prevented. We are not responsible for losses caused by someone using your password when you shared it or did not keep it private.

5. Connecting with your partner

You can connect with one partner at a time. To connect, one of you shares an invitation link. The invitation code in the link works once and expires after 7 days. The person who receives it must accept before you are connected. Keep invitation links private and send them only to the person you mean to invite.

Once you are connected, the content you choose to share in partner features is visible to your partner. Your partner can read, save, screenshot, or copy what you share. We cannot recall something after your partner has seen it or copied it outside KinHarmony.

Either of you can disconnect at any time. Disconnecting ends the shared space for both of you. Either of you can also block the other, which ends the shared space and stops those two accounts from connecting again. The Privacy Policy explains what is removed and what is kept when a connection ends.

You can change or unsend an Open when… letter for 2 minutes after you seal it, even if your partner has already opened it. You are never told whether it was opened. After 2 minutes it is sealed, and you can’t change or unsend it. Letters follow the same content rules, reporting, blocking, and suspension as Little notes.

6. Rules for everyone: no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users

KinHarmony has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. These rules apply to everything you send, share, or upload, including notes, answers, check-in notes, calendar entries, captions, photos, game entries, Our dates lines, Our list items, and drawings.

Do not use KinHarmony to:

  • threaten, harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, or control another person;
  • send sexual content your partner has not welcomed, or any sexual content involving a minor;
  • share hateful, violent, or demeaning content;
  • share photos or personal information of other people, especially children, without the right to do so;
  • pressure someone into taking part, answering, or sharing;
  • ask for passwords, verification codes, or payment details;
  • send spam, scams, malware, or links meant to mislead;
  • break the law or help someone else break it; or
  • interfere with KinHarmony, get around blocks, restrictions, or membership checks, or use automated tools to access or copy the service.

How we enforce these rules

  • Filtering. Before they are delivered, notes and some other written entries are checked by an automatic filter for certain threats, harassment, unwanted sexual requests, requests for passwords or codes, and excessive links. The filter is limited. It can miss harmful content and can block harmless wording.
  • Reporting. You can report a note you received, a photo your partner shared, a Tug-of-Draw drawing, your partner’s entries in certain word and story games, and your partner’s lines and photos in Our dates and ideas they wrote on Our list. Use Report on that item in the app. For a drawing, Report is at the bottom of the Tug-of-Draw screen. You can also report any content or behavior by emailing cs@kinharmony.app.
  • Blocking. You can block your partner from the partner connection settings. Blocking removes your shared space and stops those two accounts from connecting again.
  • Removal. A person on our team reviews reports. When content breaks these rules, we remove it and restrict or remove the user who sent it. This can include stopping that account from sharing with a partner, suspending the account, or closing it. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.

Reporting and review are not emergency monitoring. If you are in danger, call 911 in the United States or Canada, 999 in the United Kingdom, 000 in Australia, or 111 in New Zealand. For help with domestic violence or abuse in the United States, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788. Section 3 lists crisis and domestic violence lines for each country we serve.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you write, draw, and upload. You give Dawsie Nora, LLC a limited, nonexclusive permission to store, process, copy, display, and send your content only as needed to provide the features you use, show your content to the partner you share it with, run support and safety review, and meet legal obligations. This permission ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except for copies we keep as described in the Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or publish your notes, answers, photos, or drawings in our marketing. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Share only content you have the right to share. You are responsible for the content you send. We do not review content before it is shared, apart from the automatic filter described above, and we are not responsible for what your partner or anyone else does with content you choose to share.

8. Find the right words

Find the right words uses Apple’s on-device AI model on supported iPhones. What you describe stays on your iPhone. The model chooses among guidance written by KinHarmony, and the app shows that guidance. Some safety and fallback responses use KinHarmony-written guidance without the model.

The choice the model makes can be wrong or not fit your situation. Review the guidance before acting on it. Find the right words depends on your iPhone model, iOS version, and Apple settings, and is not available on the website. No other KinHarmony feature uses AI.

9. Memberships and billing

Some features need an active KinHarmony membership. We offer monthly and yearly memberships. There is no free trial. The purchase screen shows the price, the billing period, and what is included before you pay. Apple and Paddle show prices in your local currency where they offer it, and otherwise in U.S. dollars. Depending on where you live, sales tax is added at checkout, or GST, HST, or VAT is included or added as the law requires, and checkout shows the total before you pay.

Memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. A yearly membership is billed once a year. A monthly equivalent shown for comparison is not a monthly charge. If a price changes, the change will follow Apple’s or Paddle’s terms and any notice or consent the law requires.

You can buy a membership in two ways:

  • In the iPhone app, through Apple. Apple’s terms apply to that purchase, and Apple handles payment.
  • On kinharmony.app, through Paddle. Paddle is our authorized reseller and merchant of record, so Paddle sells the membership to you and handles payment. Paddle’s Buyer Terms (opens in a new tab) apply to that purchase.

A membership belongs to the KinHarmony account that bought it. When you are signed in, the membership applies to your account in both the iPhone app and on the website. While you are connected with a partner, one active membership covers the shared features for both of you. Your partner does not need to buy a separate membership. Only the person who bought the membership can manage or cancel its billing.

Access that comes from your partner’s membership ends when that membership ends, when you disconnect, or when either of you blocks the other. Access can also end if a payment fails, a subscription expires, or a refund is approved. Buying a second membership does not combine it with the first, so check your membership status before buying.

10. Cancelling and refunds

Cancelling stops future renewals. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancelling does not by itself refund a period that has already started.

  • Apple purchases. Cancel in iPhone Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Apple handles refund requests. See Apple’s cancellation help (opens in a new tab) and Apple’s refund help (opens in a new tab).
  • Website purchases. Cancel from the Membership and billing page on kinharmony.app, from the link in your Paddle receipt, or through Paddle’s buyer support (opens in a new tab). Refunds follow Paddle’s Refund Policy (opens in a new tab) and the law. You can also contact cs@kinharmony.app about a problem with KinHarmony.

If you live in the United Kingdom, or anywhere else consumers have a legal right to cancel an online purchase within a set time, you keep that right. Apple and Paddle handle these requests under their terms and the law.

Deleting the app, deleting your KinHarmony account, disconnecting, or blocking your partner does not cancel a subscription. Cancel through Apple or Paddle to stop renewal. Keep your receipt so you can reach them after your account is deleted.

11. KinHarmony’s content and your license

KinHarmony, including the app, website, design, name, logo, and the guidance, questions, and games we write, belongs to Dawsie Nora, LLC or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use KinHarmony for your own noncommercial use under these terms.

You may use and adapt suggested wording in your own conversations and share keepsakes through the features we provide. Do not copy, resell, or republish our guidance library or questions, reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it, remove our notices, or suggest that we endorse you.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

12. Ending or restricting use

You can stop using KinHarmony at any time. You can delete your account in the app (Account, then Delete account) or from the account page on kinharmony.app. Save anything you want to keep first. We cannot recover deleted content, expired shared content, or information stored only on a device that has been erased.

We may restrict, suspend, or close an account when reasonably needed to enforce these terms, protect someone’s safety, respond to a legal requirement, or protect the service. When appropriate and allowed, we will tell you why, and you can ask us to review the decision by emailing cs@kinharmony.app. Restricting an account does not cancel its billing.

Sections of these terms that by their nature should continue after your use ends, such as those about content ownership, responsibility, and disputes, continue.

13. Changes to KinHarmony and to these terms

We may add, change, or remove features and fix problems. If we make a material change to a paid feature, we will give any notice and remedy the law requires. Changes do not reduce the benefits shown when you bought a membership for the period you have already paid for.

We will post updated terms at https://kinharmony.app/terms with a new effective date. For material changes, we will also notify you in the app or by email, or ask for your agreement where the law requires it. If the law where you live requires notice a set time before a change, or lets you end this agreement because of a change, we will follow that law. If you keep using KinHarmony after the new terms take effect, the new terms apply.

14. Our responsibility to you

We work to make KinHarmony useful and reliable, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or right for your situation, or that it will produce a particular result in your relationship. To the extent the law allows, KinHarmony is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We are not responsible for what your partner or other people do, or for content they send. Apple’s Standard License Agreement contains separate warranty terms for the app license.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right or remedy you have, or any responsibility we have, that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you. This includes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, UK consumer law such as the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the consumer protection laws of your Canadian province or territory, such as Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act. For example, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where these laws apply, the statements above about availability and “as is” apply only as far as those laws allow.

15. Resolving problems

If something goes wrong, please contact cs@kinharmony.app first so we can try to fix it.

These terms do not require arbitration and do not waive your right to join a class action. They do not require you to bring a claim in a particular state, country, or court or give up protections of the law where you live. Either of us may bring a claim in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.
